A Brazilian model has been charged with fraud over her rape allegation against Neymar.
Najila Trindade alleged to Brazilian police earlier that Neymar had raped her in a Paris hotel room in May.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar, 27, maintained they had consensual sex and was cleared of any wrongdoing when police closed the case at the end of July.
Ms Trindade and her former partner Estivens Alves has been charged after being accused of lying to police and attempting to blackmail the player.
The Brazilian model has been charged with procedural fraud, slanderous denunciation and extortion.
Neymar had initially released a video on Instagram in June, revealing that he had been accused of rape.
He insisted they had consensual sex after he paid for her trip to France and also published Whatsapp messages and images, claiming they were from the woman.
But Ms Trindade went public with a TV interview, releasing a clip showing an altercation between the pair.
But the case was closed in July when the Sao Paulo attorney general’s office suspended the case due to a lack of evidence.
Neymar had hoped to leave PSG for Barcelona this summer but the French champions blocked a return to his former club.
The Brazilian superstar has been in Paris for two years but his current club had no desire to let him go, demanding a world-record fee for the player.
Neymar has been sidelined for the start of the season but has been in international action for Brazil, playing in the shock defeat to Peru on Tuesday night.
